Beyond the big party: three reasons to explore queer Berlin in November

Some of the plans I’m most curious about this November begin away from a main-room timetable. Berlin’s queer calendar offers performance, words, independent makers and opportunities to spend time together in daylight.

First, Emerging Change Tanzfestival runs from 2 to 22 November 2026. Its official programme centres Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous and People of Color dance artists. Announced work includes Tiran Willemse’s blackmilk on 14–15 November and a conversation with Alexis Pauline Gumbs on 7 November. Check each event’s venue, access details and ticket conditions: this is a programme across multiple spaces, not one continuous party.

On Sunday 8 November, The Drag Festival returns to Festsaal Kreuzberg. The venue announces Kyran Thrax and Britney Manson, alongside Berlin performers and a Queer Creators Village with independent makers. Doors are listed at noon. It offers another way to meet a city’s creative community, with more programme announcements still to come.

Then, on 18 November, Queer Slam Berlin marks its 50th edition at SO36. The organisers list performers including Karl Kelschebach, Rune Vollbehr and Jin Jason, with Gaylord Christian Ritter hosting.

I would like our travel pages to leave space for this variety. A memorable queer weekend can include a dancefloor, but also an unexpected performance or a voice that stays with you on the journey home. These are previews of announced events; I’m looking forward to discovering them without pretending I have already been there.
